Job Title: Audio Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Audio Mechanical Design Engineer to join our labs in Sunnyvale. As a member of the Acoustic Render (Speaker) Team (ART), you will play a pivotal role in the architectural design and integration of audio transducers for our custom speaker modules. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of state-of-the-art hardware devices that enhance social interactions in both Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) environments.

Responsibilities

+ Design and develop audio transducer integration for custom speaker modules.

+ Contribute to the architectural design of hardware devices in AR and VR.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and functionality.

+ Utilize Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.

+ Conduct statistical tolerance analysis, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing.

+ Employ 3D/2D CAD for design and development processes.

Essential Skills

+ At least 4 years of relevant product design and development experience focusing on micro-speakers in high-volume consumer electronics.

+ Proficiency in mechanical design and SolidWorks.

+ Experience with small form factors such as headphones and smartwatches.

+ Proficiency in DFM, DFA, and statistical tolerance analysis techniques.

+ Strong knowledge of material properties including plastics, metals, adhesives, and glass.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with testing and analysis techniques such as Design of Experiments (DOE) and mold flow analysis.

+ Familiarity with high-volume manufacturing techniques such as stamping, machining, and injection molding.

Work Environment

The position is based onsite at a customer location in Sunnyvale, requiring presence five days per week. This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge technology, including AR glasses, where audio serves as a new input form factor to control various functions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of San Jose, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
