    Job Title: Substation Protection & Controls Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Substation Protection & Controls Engineer to lead and manage the engineering of mid to large-scale substation projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in supporting EPC construction projects, with a solid understanding of AutoCAD and Microstation software. This role involves designing projects with voltages higher than 138kV, and candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of substation experience.

    Responsibilities

    + Provide engineering services for mid to large-scale substation projects.

    + Support EPC construction projects and work with voltages exceeding 138kV.

    + Design and engineer both existing and new substation builds, including brownfield and greenfield projects.

    + Collaborate on multiple client projects, including those based in Arizona.

    + Utilize AutoCAD and Microstation for project designs.

    Essential Skills

    + At least 7 years of experience in Substation Engineering.

    + Minimum 7 years of experience supporting high voltage electrical projects at 138kV+.

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microstation.

    + Experience with physical substation engineering.

    + Knowledge of high voltage levels, including 765kV.

    + Ability to manage projects across multiple clients.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Professional Engineer (PE) License is a plus and willingness to obtain one within six months of employment.

    + Experience in industrial or oil & gas environments related to high-voltage substations is advantageous.

    + Understanding of switchgear and relays is beneficial.

    + Construction experience is a plus.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
