    Job Title: Electrical Test Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Test Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves working with complex aviation radio and communication equipment, crucial for search and rescue operations, law enforcement, and military communications. The successful candidate will work in a specialized troubleshooting department, focusing on circuit card assemblies (CCAs) that require precision and expertise.

    Responsibilities

    + Troubleshoot and repair RF CCAs down to the component level, identifying root causes of failures in both analog and digital domains.

    + Document failure modes found during troubleshooting to aid product improvement and re-spin efforts.

    + Develop troubleshooting methods for manufacturing engineering and quality teams to create work standards.

    + Perform RF testing, tuning, and alignment of assemblies using spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other specialized test equipment.

    + Collaborate with design engineering to provide feedback on recurring issues, design improvements, and corrective actions.

    + Create failure analysis reports and documentation for internal teams and customers.

    + Partner with manufacturing and quality teams to resolve production issues and improve first-pass yield.

    + Conduct detailed circuit analysis, signal integrity evaluation, and component characterization as needed.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or 10+ years as a Electrical Engineering Test Technician or Quality Technician.

    + 5+ years of experience in RF engineering, testing, or troubleshooting (aerospace/defense preferred).

    + Proficiency in using RF test equipment such as spectrum/network analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and power meters.

    + Strong knowledge of RF theory, impedance matching, filters, amplifiers, mixers, PLLs, and modulation techniques.

    + Demonstrated ability to perform circuit-level debugging and schematic analysis.

    + Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience with aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronic systems.

    + Familiarity with IPC standards, FAA/EASA certification requirements, or related test practices, such as IPC J-STD-001 Class 2.

    + Knowledge of root cause and corrective action methodologies (8D, FMEA, etc.).

    + Strong communication skills to interface with engineers and technicians.

    + Ability to document findings and generate clear technical reports.

    + Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

    Work Environment

    The work environment includes a testing lab and electronics manufacturing area. Employees must wear ESD protective clothing, which includes carbon-infused polyester or cotton materials to prevent electrostatic discharge. The company provides lab coats/smocks and other ESD protective gear. The environment is focused on electronics testing and requires adherence to safety and quality standards.

    This is a Contract position based out of Prescott, Arizona.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
