    Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description

     

    Join our team to support the R&D department, focusing on new product development, cost, quality, supply assurance, and operations support for battery technology. You will work within a dynamic R&D lab environment, testing new products, chemicals, and components.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform tests on components and chemicals according to the test plan provided by R&D engineers.

    + Conduct GC/MS, analytical, and ICP tests.

    + Calibrate GC instruments.

    + Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) during lab tests.

    + Occasionally work with compressed air, nitrogen, and aerosol products.

    + Adhere to safety requirements and policies.

    + Conduct product quality checks by sampling from production as per plans from R&D technical staff.

    + Organize lab equipment and materials, assist with drafting SOP/JSA.

    + Enter and update formulation information in data systems.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience working within a lab environment and running GC-MS.

    + Proficient understanding of GC-MS testing and instrument calibration.

    + Experience with ICP, ICP-MS, or ICP-OES.

    + Proficient in utilizing lab tools and equipment.

    + Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

    + Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.

    + Critical thinking skills, initiative, and follow-through.

    + Proficiency in data entry and report preparation using computers.

    + Good communication skills and ability to maintain cross-functional contacts.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor's Degree in Science (Chemistry, Biology, etc.).

    + Completion of college coursework in General Chemistry I and II with labs, and Organic Chemistry with lab.

    + One to two years of college coursework in chemistry or equivalent experience/education.

    + Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications.

    + Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 35 lbs.

    + Effective written and verbal communication skills.

    Work Environment

    Work within the R&D analytical lab for the battery department. The start time is flexible between 7:30 and 8:30 am. The role may require long periods of standing and working with fragranced products. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment must be worn as necessary.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Westlake, Ohio.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
