    Job Description: Laser Applications Technician/Engineer

     

    We are seeking a skilled Laser Applications Technician/Engineer to join our dynamic Applications department. This role is integral to providing both operational and technical support to customers and sales staff. The position involves teaching operator training classes, offering customer phone support, and conducting on-site applications process development. Additionally, you will support sales by conducting machine demonstrations, processing machine samples, and developing cutting technology for new machine models.

    Responsibilities

    + Teach operator training classes at both the home office and customer facilities.

    + Provide customer phone support and on-site applications process development.

    + Conduct machine demonstrations for customer visits and trade shows.

    + Process machine samples for potential new customers.

    + Develop cutting technology for new machine models.

    Essential Skills

    + Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to conduct presentations to small to mid-size groups.

    + General understanding of mechanical blueprints and CAD/CAM programming.

    + Minimum of two years of experience in CNC machine operation.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

    + Ability to work independently and unsupervised in various locations.

    + Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + A two-year technical degree in Lasers, Electronics, Robotics, Manufacturing, or similar is required.

    + A four-year degree in an engineering or science program is preferred.

    + At least three years of experience working with CNC controlled manufacturing equipment, preferably lasers.

    + Experience with Solidworks and application engineering is advantageous.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
