Job Title: Electrical Machine Design EngineerJob Description

The Electrical Machine Design Engineer is responsible for designing, programming, debugging, and supporting automated systems and automation equipment for production. The role involves offering electrical design input and assisting in concept and development efforts within the facility through infrastructure, programming, or design. Extensive skills in PLC, Robot, Human Machine Interface (HMI), and electrical controls are necessary.

Responsibilities

+ Design, program, debug, and support automated systems and automation equipment.

+ Offer electrical design input and assist in concept and development efforts.

+ Provide troubleshooting assistance on all electrical and/or controls equipment to resolve issues and gather data.

+ Collaborate with management, machine operators, supervisors, and other engineers.

+ Work independently with minimal supervision to drive continuous improvement.

+ Transition new technologies into the business framework.

+ Assist in setting standards for new control equipment.

+ Learn and apply additional project management skills.

Essential Skills

+ Extensive experience in PLC programming.

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.

+ Expertise in electrical design and machine design.

+ Strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 5+ years of experience as a controls engineer or in a related role.

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electrical Technology, or Mechatronics. An Associate's degree in engineering combined with experience may be considered.

+ Formal training or extensive experience with PLCs, OMRON CJ & NJ, Robot RC8, and AutoCAD Electrical.

Work Environment

The role is based in an office setting in Maryville, with minimal travel to other plants in the south sub-region. The position offers holiday and vacation benefits.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maryville, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
