Jacobs is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join our Bridge and Structures team in Bellevue, Washington starting in summer 2026, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients' challenges locally and worldwide.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team and be involved in a variety of engineering tasks for both private and public sector clients; such as design, analysis, and maintenance of various structural systems including bridges, and other infrastructure projects.
In this position you will work with a multidisciplinary team taking on a variety of tasks that blend your theoretical knowledge with practical application. Under the guidance of professional engineers and other senior technical staff you’ll have the opportunity to work on projects that focus on structural design and analysis of bridges and other transportation structures.
Your Responsibilities May Include:
• Assist in the design and analysis of structural systems for bridges and transportation projects
• Prepare structural design calculations, cost estimates, drawings, specifications, and reports
• Develop design solutions and contract drawings using MicroStation or AutoCAD
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to develop and optimize design solutions
• Participate in project meetings and communicate with clients under supervision
• In pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
• 3.0 GPA
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Strong interest in structural/ bridge engineering
Ideally, You Will Have:
• In pursuit of a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and/or Structural Engineering
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or MicroStation
• A previous internship related to structures or bridge design
• Experience with engineering analysis software (e.g., Sap2000, CsiBridge, Risa 3D, Larsa, Midas, etc.)
• Experience or interest in programming/ design optimization software (Python, Rhino, Grasshopper, etc.)
• Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future
