Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembler or Machine Builder for a full-time, contract-to-hire opportunity in Elgin, Illinois. This role involves assembling complex mechanical systems and fluid components—including pneumatic, hydraulic, and coolant systems—based on detailed production drawings and technical schematics. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, document build processes, and contribute to accurate project forecasting and execution.
Key Responsibilities
+ Assemble mechanical systems according to customer specifications and production drawings.
+ Connect and integrate fluid systems: pneumatic, hydraulic, and coolant.
+ Interpret technical schematics to guide assembly and wiring tasks.
+ Estimate project timelines to support quoting and planning.
+ Document each build step for future diagnostics and reference.
+ Collaborate with machine assembly teams and project stakeholders.
+ Archive project data to improve future forecasting and customer service.
+ Review completed builds against initial estimates to refine delivery accuracy.
Required Skills & Experience
+ Strong proficiency in mechanical assembly and blueprint reading.
+ Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments.
+ Experience with wiring and soldering based on schematics.
+ Familiarity with electrical assembly and fluid system integration.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Minimum 5 years of mechanical assembly experience; CNC experience preferred.
+ Minimum 5 years of electrical wiring experience using diagrams.
+ At least 3 years of heavy mechanical assembly or machine building in any industry.
Work Environment
+ Clean, temperature-controlled, and well-lit facility.
+ Facility doubles as a showroom for high-precision projects.
+ Individual workstations designed for comfort and efficiency.
+ Scheduled work hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch).

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $34.00/hr.
