    Job Title: Copy Editor / Technical Writer

     

    Employment Type: Contract, 40 hours a week

     

    Duration: About 16 weeks (roughly)

     

    Start Date: Around November 10th

     

    Pay: $30-33/hour

     

    About the Role

     

    We’re seeking a skilled Copy Editor/Technical Writer to support a content migration project within a local Non-profit. This role involves reviewing and refining existing content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with brand standards. The ideal candidate combines strong editorial judgment with technical precision and an eye for detail.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Review existing articles and posts, identifying the most appropriate tags and categories

    + Write concise, engaging summaries and recaps of existing content

    + Apply a consistent editorial voice and ensure all content meets style and accessibility standards

    + Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency across written materials

    + Incorporate Alt Text for accessibility and manage content in WordPress

    Requirements

    + Proven writing and editing experience in technical writing, journalism, storytelling, or proofreading

    + Exceptional attention to detail and editorial accuracy

    + Strong understanding of tone, structure, and audience engagement

    + Familiarity with nonprofit

    + Hands-on experience with WordPress and Alt Text best practices

    + Background in digital content strategy or accessibility-focused editing
