Now hiring a Diesel Mechanic in Greencastle, PA

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic with 2-3 years of experience in handling major repairs such as engine, transmission, accident damage, and preventative maintenance within our transportation truck shop. This role is crucial for ensuring a functional and operational transportation fleet.

Shift: 1st shift 4am-2:30pm or 6am-4:30pm

Pay: $28-$33/hour based on experience

Responsibilities

+ Conduct all major repairs including engine, transmission, accident damage, preventative maintenance, changing of brakes, oils, and lights, brake work, and rear end.

+ Execute truck mechanic B requirements, including major preventive maintenance, major components rebuilds, and interpreting shop materials.

+ Perform maintenance and repairs on refrigeration equipment as needed.

+ Repair major structural damage to trailers and components, conduct internal and engine repairs.

+ Perform welding functions when necessary.

+ Execute all functions of a truck mechanic C, including basic service line functions such as checking air pressure and changing lights.

+ Conduct minor tune-ups and solve electrical, brake, and compressor issues.

+ Participate as a team player and work well with others.

Work Environment

The work environment is casual but dynamic, with a mix of slow and busy days influenced by weather and external factors. You will be part of a team of 5-6 diesel technicians in a shop that is indoors yet exposed to the elements due to open garage doors. Be prepared for road maintenance and pickups as required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $33.00/hr.
