Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our equipment and machinery. The ideal candidate will coordinate, schedule, and complete preventative maintenance and scheduled maintenance shutdowns, while also repairing and maintaining plant machinery.

Responsibilities

+ Coordinate, schedule, and complete the preventative maintenance program and scheduled maintenance shutdowns of equipment.

+ Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment such as compressors, pouch machines, and printing presses.

+ Repair or replace PLCs, cylinders, switches, sensors, pushbuttons, and heater cartridges.

+ Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments.

+ Set up and perform basic operations on all production machines.

+ Fabricate and modify new and existing equipment components.

+ Manage and maintain inventory of machine parts and components needed to maintain efficient operation of all equipment.

+ Maintain positive relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service technicians.

+ Participate in plant safety, quality, and continuous improvement events.

+ Identify, suggest, and implement approved improvements to equipment or processes.

Essential Skills

+ 3 years of maintenance experience on industrial machinery systems.

+ 1-3 years of safety experience.

+ 1-3 years of experience with Excel and computer safety analysis programs.

+ 3 years of industrial electrical and mechanical experience.

+ 1-2 years of experience reading and comprehending blueprints.

+ Ability to lift 40 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Flexible packaging experience.

+ Medical device and pharmaceutical experience.

+ Bilingual.

Work Environment

The work environment is clean, with occasional gown-up requirements in sterile packaging areas. The candidate will be the sole member of the Maintenance team, working closely with the Press Supervisor for troubleshooting and problem-solving. Machines are old and lack manuals, so the ability to think on one's feet is essential.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Niles, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
