    Description

    We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Help Desk Technician to join a healthcare organization based in Des Moines, Iowa. This is a 100% onsite position supporting a multi-location environment and providing day-to-day technical support for staff and devices across Des Moines.

     

    Contract Opportunity | Must be U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder | 100% Onsite in Des Moines

     

    This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems, and is eager to grow within IT. The selected candidate will join a small, collaborative support team that values reliability, initiative, and strong communication skills.

    Responsibilities

    + Provide front-line technical assistance and support for user issues, hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.

    + Utilize the IT ticketing system to log, prioritize, and resolve requests in a timely and professional manner.

    + Install, configure, and repair desktop and laptop computers, printers, scanners, telephones, and other peripherals.

    + Support and maintain user accounts, access rights, and security groups within Active Directory.

    + Assist with onboarding new users and training staff on software and hardware use.

    + Communicate and coordinate with software vendors for application support, upgrades, or issue resolution.

    + Implement and document software updates and equipment changes.

    + Escalate complex issues to the appropriate technical team members when necessary.

    + Maintain and track IT inventory, including devices and network equipment.

    Requirements

    Required Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Certifications: CompTIA, Network+, or ITIL HIGHLY PREFERRED.

    + 1–2 years of relevant IT support experience.

    + Strong troubleshooting experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.

    + Familiarity with network concepts and connectivity troubleshooting.

    + Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.

    + Self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.

    + Willingness to learn healthcare-specific systems and tools (training provided).

    Preferred:

    + Previous experience in a healthcare IT environment.

    + Exposure to EMR/EHR or other clinical software systems.
