Job Title: GSE Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced GSE Mechanic to join our team. This role requires hands-on mechanical testing and troubleshooting skills, as well as the ability to perform preventative maintenance on Ground Support Equipment (GSE) such as baggage carts and deicing equipment. Candidates must have their own rolling toolbox of basic tools.
Responsibilities
+ Perform light and heavy repairs on GSE equipment.
+ Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with diesel, gas, and LP engines.
+ Troubleshoot A/C and D/C electrical systems.
+ Read and interpret electrical schematics.
+ Utilize computer software to diagnose Powertrain Management Systems.
+ Repair 80 and 48 volt DC systems.
+ Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems and Airstart systems.
+ Read hydraulic flow schematics.
+ Continue to receive ongoing training to enhance equipment knowledge.
+ Maintain required productivity levels.
+ Accurately complete vehicle repair orders in a timely manner.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of experience in mechanical testing and troubleshooting.
+ Ability to read schematics.
+ Experience in electrical testing and troubleshooting.
+ Knowledge of generators, 400 Hz and 28 volt.
+ Valid driver's license.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Minimum 4+ years of experience in heavy maintenance diesel and/or electrical work.
+ Previous GSE experience preferred.
+ Strong knowledge of gas and diesel engines (3-5 years preferred).
+ Good oral and written communication skills.
+ Vocational training certificate or equivalent work experience.
+ Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
+ Ability to attain an Airport-issued ID badge (includes extensive background check).

Work Environment
Work in a heated hangar during winter and a cooled environment in summer, alongside a team of 7 mechanics per shift. The work site includes an off-site location for larger projects. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boston, Massachusetts.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
