**Location:** North Charleston, SC

**Shift:** 5:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Rotating mandatory weekends every 5 weeks)

**Pay Range:** $21–$36/hour (Based on experience and certification level)

**Hiring:** Class A, B, and C Technicians

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Technician to join our team in North Charleston. This direct placement role focuses on preventive maintenance and repair of yard trucks, with responsibilities spanning electrical systems, emissions, welding, and air brake systems. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality service.

Key Responsibilities

+ Perform preventive maintenance on yard trucks

+ Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including wiring and battery components

+ Service computer and emission control systems

+ Execute welding and fabrication tasks as needed

+ Repair and maintain air brake systems

+ Maintain accurate service records and documentation

+ Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment

+ Complete additional duties as assigned by the Service Manager

Required Skills and Qualifications

+ Minimum 5 years of experience in diesel mechanics or a related field

+ Proficiency in electrical systems, hydraulics, and schematic reading

+ Welding experience and familiarity with DPF/DEF systems

+ Basic computer skills for diagnostics and record-keeping

+ Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

+ DOT/Medical card certification

+ Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks such as stooping, climbing, and kneeling

+ Ownership of a complete set of quality hand tools (preferred)

Work Environment

This position is based in a high-activity truck shop with warm conditions. The schedule includes early morning shifts and rotating weekends to support operational needs.
