Job Title: Sheet Metal Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Sheet Metal Mechanic to assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of duct systems. This role involves learning and applying various techniques related to duct types, insulation, and materials, as well as understanding system components and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
+ Assist with hanging ducts, sealing joints, assembling fittings, and setting registers.
+ Learn about different duct types, including flex, round, and rectangular, along with insulation, fasteners, and materials.
+ Identify and troubleshoot basic issues such as air leaks, misaligned joints, loose connections, or airflow blockages.
+ Perform basic duct sealing, cleaning, and resealing tasks.
+ Understand the relationship between duct systems and other elements like pipe routing, condensate, and refrigerant piping.
+ Read and interpret simple layouts, duct routes, and installation sketches.
+ Observe and learn about damper controls, actuators, and basic system components.
+ Follow all PPE, ladder safety, and OSHA safety requirements at all times.
+ Record hours worked, track time, materials used, and basic installation details.
Essential Skills
+ Basic knowledge of sheet metal tools, duct types, and installation methods.
+ Ability to learn quickly and follow detailed instructions.
+ Safety-conscious with a willingness to practice proper PPE and site procedures.
+ Punctual, dependable, and receptive to feedback.
+ Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ OSHA 10 certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
+ Basic sheet metal, duct install, or HVAC training is a plus.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $62400.00/yr.
