Job Title: Building Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Building Technician to join our team. The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across all systems, with a focus on technical expertise in at least one craft area such as Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations. The position operates on a Monday to Friday first shift schedule, with availability required for emergency call-outs.
Responsibilities
+ Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs on Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire Life Safety, and Control systems to ensure they meet applicable standards.
+ Maintain responsibility for facility services, including preventative maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, contracted maintenance, and general maintenance.
+ Clean, inspect, calibrate, and change parts to maintain HVAC systems and associated equipment at optimum performance levels.
+ Record readings and make necessary adjustments for proper equipment operation.
+ Comply with departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
+ Conduct periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory.
+ Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.
+ Adhere to all safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, and ensure work areas are safe. Recognize and propose methods to eliminate safety hazards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or Equivalent
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial building systems
+ Ability to analyze and rectify issues in Commercial or Industrial Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems
+ EPA 608 Type II Certification
+ Proficiency in computer applications, including Word and Excel
Schedule
+ The position operates primarily during weekday hours.
+ The schedule will be 6am-2pm OR 7am-3pm.
+ The role may involve responding to emergencies outside of regular working hours.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $33.00/hr.
