Job Title: Welder Fitter

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Welder Fitter for our 2nd shift, running from 6 PM to 6 AM, Monday through Friday. Our team offers flexible scheduling, with many employees choosing to work from 4 AM to 4 PM to enjoy weekends off. This role involves reading and interpreting blueprints to perform the initial fit-up of welded assemblies, communicating directly with engineering when necessary, and working with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

+ Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, both detail and assembly.

+ Perform initial fit-up of welded assemblies using pre-cut steel plates.

+ Communicate directly with engineering as required.

+ Use forklifts and overhead cranes proficiently.

+ Operate overhead cranes up to 50-ton capacity and fork trucks.

+ Manually lift 20-25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

+ Collaborate with AWS certified welders to complete welding tasks.

+ Use micrometers and precision measuring instruments.

Essential Skills

+ 5 years of blueprint reading experience.

+ Experience with 1-inch plate fitting and welding.

+ 5 years of Flux Core/MIG welding experience.

+ 5 years of fitting experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with heavy plate and structural welding.

+ Ability to lay down rods and fillets.

+ Proficiency in MIG, Flux Core, and fabrication techniques.

Work Environment

Our facility spans 9 acres with over 100,000 square feet under the roof. We have state-of-the-art equipment, including 34 overhead and jib cranes with a 40-ton capacity in the machine shop and a 65-ton capacity in the fab shop. This is a Permanent position based out of WATERFORD, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $46000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
