Lilly has created a new centralized Global Customer Office by assembling a group of teams who are passionate about understanding and helping customers work together and meet their evolving needs within a sophisticated healthcare ecosystem. The goal is to deliver remarkable, data-driven, end-to-end experiences across a myriad of touchpoints to drive positive outcomes for people living with health conditions ranging from diabetes to obesity to stage IV cancer and beyond.
With a significant consumer media investment across the Lilly portfolio, this role will set the vision and strategy for one half of the enterprise portfolio, working in close partnership with a peer Senior Director who oversees the other half. Together, the two Senior Directors will ensure a cohesive, enterprise-first consumer media strategy while delivering against individual brand and portfolio needs.
The Senior Director of Consumer Media will report to the Associate Vice President of Media & Partnerships and lead a team of 3–4, overseeing enterprise consumer media strategy, governance, and agency partnerships. This leader will serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives, translating insights into clear recommendations that drive enterprise decision-making and long-term growth.
The Senior Director will shape media objectives, channel principles, and investment frameworks that balance enterprise priorities with brand performance. They will oversee key external partnerships, ensuring agency accountability, evolving capabilities, and strategic value creation. This role will also monitor shifts in the market, consumer behavior, and media innovation, proactively advising the enterprise on opportunities and risks.
This position requires a seasoned media strategist who can influence at the highest levels, deliver financial stewardship with rigor and transparency, and build both talent and organizational capability to elevate Lilly’s consumer media expertise.

Define enterprise media objectives, channel principles, and measurement standards to drive consistency and maximize business impact, while pushing the organization toward innovation and future-forward approaches.
+ **Executive Leadership & Influence:** Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives on media and marketing investment strategy. Translate complex data and insights into clear recommendations that inform enterprise decision-making. Build organizational alignment around media’s role in delivering customer-centric experiences and driving business performance.
+ **Agency & Partner Ecosystem Leadership:** Oversee enterprise-level media agency partnerships, ensuring the right operating models, talent, and performance standards are in place. Shape agency accountability, foster collaboration, and ensure agency capabilities evolve with the business’s needs. Build senior relationships with agency executives and hold them accountable for strategic thought leadership and value creation.
+ **Market & Industry Foresight:** Monitor consumer, category, and competitive trends, as well as advancements in media, data, and technology. Anticipate shifts in the external landscape and proactively advise the enterprise on opportunities, risks, and implications for the business.
+ **Financial Stewardship:** Oversee enterprise media investment portfolio, ensuring responsible stewardship of significant budgets across multiple brands and channels. Establish investment principles and governance to maximize ROI, enable strategic trade-offs, and deliver transparency and accountability to leadership.
+ **Risk & Reputation Management:** Ensure media practices uphold the highest standards of compliance, privacy, brand safety, and customer trust. Establish guardrails and governance models to safeguard reputation and ensure all consumer marketing guidelines and policies are met.
+ **Talent & Capability Development:** Build and nurture a high-performing media organization, ensuring the right capabilities, leadership pipelines, and partnerships are in place. Inspire, mentor, and grow talent internally while shaping external partnerships to elevate the company’s media expertise.
Basic Qualifications/Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ 10 years’ experience in media and marketing with 8 years of experience in specifically media agency and/or client side

Additional Skills/Preferences:
+ Deep understanding of modern media ecosystems, including programmatic, streaming/CTV, social, and retail media
+ Experience with data-driven marketing, measurement frameworks, and connecting investment to business outcomes
+ Proven success building enterprise operating models and governance across complex organizations
+ Expertise in AI- and technology-enabled media innovation and automation
+ Strong relationship management and agency leadership experience
+ Collaborative leadership style with a track record of developing high-performing teams
+ MBA or related advanced degree preferred
+ Exceptional storytelling and executive communication skills
+ Knowledge of emerging media platforms and content formats (e.g., retail, influencer, shoppable, gaming)
+ Experience leading through organizational transformation and change
+ Balance of creative and analytical thinking to drive measurable impact
+ Understanding of marketing technology stacks and data integration

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$154,500 - $226,600
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
