    Wyoming Medical Center is looking for a SPD certified professional interested in a fast-paced and exciting opportunity ! A highly rewarding and challenging opportunity as a Sterile Processing Associate Director awaits you at Banner Health. Join and lead our team of certified sterile processing technicians. Working in this role you can expect to work alongside a detail-oriented team who is dedicated to instrument tray assembly, equipment and instrument sterilization all to help maintain the highest level of safety.     The Sterile Processing Associate Director is a Full Time position. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience as a certified sterile processing tech, with **at least 2 years leadership experience** .     Banner Wyoming Medical Center is located in the heart of Casper Wyoming. As the state's largest inpatient facility, Wyoming Medical Center is known and highly regarded for its cardiac and stroke services.     POSITION SUMMARY

    This position is responsible for the effective direction, management, and operation of all functions of the Central Sterile Processing department in maintaining a clean, sterile, and safe surgical instrument management. Leads in the development, analysis, preparation and implementation of strategic financial and operational plans to achieve overall system and entity strategic goals and objectives supporting PeriOp, Hospital Departments, and supported clinics. Provides analytical support for both financial and operational goals, which includes analyzing processes and identifying opportunities for improvements in operational practices and procedures. Designs, implements and supports the adoption of new processes that are both financial and operational in nature to increase efficiency and compliance with Infection Prevention and Regulatory requirements while maintaining the highest level of quality. Ensures the proper guidelines, standards, and protocols governing the use of decontamination equipment, chemicals, and multiple methods of sterilization are enforced to meet the PeriOp surgical procedures, hospital departments, and clinics demands. Plays a key role in management of all surgical instrumentation, sterile disposable case cart supply inventories, and processing equipment for both the decontamination and sterilization. This position is responsible for the daily management of multiple exempt and non-exempt staff.

    CORE FUNCTIONS

    1. Manages managers, supervisors and/or professional staff. Hires, develops and motivates employees to achieve objectives.

    2. Achieves operational, financial or service objectives using breadth of knowledge of healthcare operations and management expertise. May manage budget for large and/or complex projects or programs. Participates and may lead task forces to plan, implement, and coordinate facility activities to maximize service quality, effectiveness and efficiency.

    3. Accountable for the performance and results of multiple functions or facility or process. Develops departmental plans related to policies and national standards to achieve organizational priorities; 6 to 18 months future outlook. Makes decisions guided by functional business plans that impact the support and funding of services, processes, technologies, etc.

    4. Conducts in-depth analysis and/or evaluation of information to determine the cause and appropriate solution and actions to solve emergency situations. Foresees and resolves complex customer issues or problems directly related to patient outcomes. Manages resources to resolve conflicting objectives and priorities within own area to ensure financial, service, and operational commitments are met.

    5. Interacts frequently with physicians, nurses, department and facility leadership, vendors and service providers, and other professional and non-professional team members to provide quality sterile processing services. Assess customer satisfaction levels while obtaining direct feedback regarding the service line performance, resolving problems, and identifying new opportunities to improve services and cost effectiveness. Promotes positive customer service attitude both within and outside the service line by maintaining effective working relationships. Promotes win-win relationships with internal and external customers

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working knowledge.

     

    Requires national certification as an SPD Technician and complete manager or leader certification within two years.

     

    Requires proficiency typically acquired with five years Sterile Processing experience including knowledge of surgical instrumentation, patient related supplies, materials and equipment, aseptic and sterilization techniques. Must have two years of leadership experience in a management position. Must possess effective organizational, communication and human relations skills as the incumbent will coordinate projects simultaneously and working closely with all levels of staff.

     

    Requires computer skills and the ability to research and compile statistical reports.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    National SPD Manager Certification.

     

    Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
