The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

     

    We’re looking for an accomplished Principal Communication Designer to shape the storytelling and design direction for executive presentations and large-scale company events. As a Principal IC, you set the creative bar for strategic projects, mentor senior designers, and partner with senior executives to deliver high-quality, narrative-driven presentations that move the business forward.

    Responsibilities:

    + **Drives strategy and visions for design initiatives** , creating high-quality, narrative-driven presentations for large offsite events, all-hands meetings, and other related design assets, ensuring alignment with business objectives and brand guidelines

    + **Collaborate directly with senior leadership** , (SVPs, Chiefs of Staff) and cross-functional teams to understand design needs, delivering effective, visually compelling solutions

    + **Effectively communicate design rationale** to stakeholders and cross functional partners and integrate feedback to refine designs ensuring continuous improvement

    + **Translate complex business and communication objectives** into clear, engaging, and visually appealing presentations and design assets, considering the broader impact on the entire project or event

    + **Manage time effectively and set clear boundaries** with partners across multiple initiatives, ensuring work meets deadlines and expectations, in a fast-paced environment

    + **Develop dynamic animations and interactive elements** to enhance storytelling and engagement within presentations, using motion and cinematic techniques to convey complex content simply

    + **Adhere to brand guidelines and design principles** (layout, color theory, typography, hierarchy) for consistency across all materials

    + **Create and maintain branded templates and resource libraries** in tools such as PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite

    + **Stay up to date on design trends and emerging technologies** to enhance presentation quality and storytelling methods, while developing processes to improve team and company efficiency

    + **Work outside typical 9-5 hours and travel** **to events as needed** to meet project deadlines and expectations

    + **Perform other related duties as assigned** , demonstrating flexibility and the ability to handle diverse design challenges

    Basic Qualifications

    + 10+ years of experience in communication or visual design, with deep expertise in presentation design

    + 7+ years of experience leading design strategy for senior executives (SVPs, C-level)

    + Mastery of PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, and motion tools

    + Proven ability to influence executives and mentor senior ICs

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience establishing design standards and systems at scale

    + Strong ability to navigate ambiguity and shape unstructured content into clear narratives

    _The pay range for this role is $185,000 to $299,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. _
