    Position Summary:

    We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to join our team as Regional Planning Director. The opportunity provides unparalleled cross-functional collaboration and direct exposure to trading, scheduling, optimization, production coordination, subject matter experts, product distribution, and external financial reporting, opportunities not typically available elsewhere in the company. This critical role will drive planning, optimization, and continuous improvement efforts across the Renewable Diesel Value Chain. The ideal candidate combines financial acumen, technical expertise, and a passion for planning excellence to support peer-leading performance in our externally reported Renewable Diesel segment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Planning Excellence

     

    + Leads a team of engineers and analysts to collaborate, create, and communicate weekly operating forecast data across the value chain.

    + Drives teams to continuously challenge constraints used to develop and model operating plans ensuring feasible execution while maximizing value.

    + Leverages data analytics and visualizations to streamline communications and decision making.

     

    Value Chain Optimization

     

    + Drives relentless optimization efforts across the value chain from feedstock selection to facility constraints and product placement.

    + Continuously challenges status quo to enhance commercial acumen and push logistical/operational capabilities.

    + Understands market dynamics to influence decision-making.

    + Interfaces with the Martinez JV team to ensure activities are aligned with MPC’s value chain optimization mindset.

     

    Continuous Improvement

     

    + Supports a lookback process to identify gaps or areas for improvement across all planning, commercial, and operational aspects of the business.

    + Inspires data driven focus to drive process improvements, decision making or creating efficiencies across the work processes.

    + Collaborates across the value chain and leads initiatives to deliver process improvements and/or value creation.

     

    Segment Reporting

     

    + Collaborates with Business Planning & Analysis (BP&A) to develop, analyze, interpret, and effectively communicate financial data and forecasts specific to the Renewable Diesel segment.

    + Leads team to provide comprehensive and actionable analysis to inform strategic decision-making in alignment with our new VCO Core Meeting cadence (Planning, P&L Review, and Continuous Improvement)

     

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

     

    + Acts as a role model to ensure Trading, Scheduling, Operations, Marketing, and Compliance teams are appropriately engaged in routine and/or critical decision-making processes.

    + Functions as a liaison with various organizations to ensure Renewable Diesel Value Chain is included in strategic decisions as well as new initiatives.

    + Plays key role in interface with the Martinez JV to maximize value, drive alignment between Parents and support the MPC JV Board members.

    Additional Job Description

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Proven leadership experience in technical or commercial environments.

    + Prior experience in LP modeling or production planning.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to clearly articulate complex analyses and insights to diverse stakeholders.

    + Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.

     

    Minimum Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences or related discipline required.• Ten (10) years of refining operations and commercial experience required.
