About the role

As a **Data Scientist & Visualization Specialist** , you will make an impact by transforming complex data into actionable insights through advanced analytics and compelling visualizations. You will be a valued member of the **Data & Analytics** team and work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.

In this role, you will:

+ Design and optimize data visualizations and dashboards using Spotfire to support business intelligence efforts.

+ Apply R scripting to perform advanced data analysis and build predictive models.

+ Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver tailored data solutions.

+ Ensure data accuracy and integrity through best practices in data management and reporting.

+ Lead integration efforts between Spotfire and other data systems to streamline workflows.

Work model:

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week (Tuesday to Thursday) in a client or Cognizant office in Chicago, IL. What you need to have to be considered

+ Proven experience in Spotfire report development and optimization.

+ Proficiency in R scripting for data analysis and modeling.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering business value.

+ Experience working in hybrid environments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

+ Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest data technologies.

These will help you stand out

+ Ability to lead training sessions and workshops on Spotfire and R scripting.

+ Experience integrating Spotfire with enterprise data systems.

+ Familiarity with data governance practices and compliance standards.

+ Strong documentation skills to maintain a knowledge base of methodologies and processes.

+ Awareness of industry trends in data visualization and analytics.

**Salary and Other Compensation** :

Applications will be accepted until October 30, 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $115,000.00 – $135,000.00 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
