What You’ll Do as a DSP

As a Direct Support Professional, you’ll play a key role in helping individuals with I/DD gain life skills, independence, and confidence. Your daily support helps people lead richer, more connected lives.

Your responsibilities include:

+ Building trusting relationships with the people you support

+ Helping individuals meet personal, social, and workplace goals

+ Supporting communication, self-advocacy, and community engagement

+ Providing guidance at job sites or during daily living tasks

+ Encouraging independence through positive reinforcement and skill-building

+ Collaborating with families, support staff, and professionals

+ Ensuring accurate documentation and health/safety monitoring

+ Embracing training and ongoing learning opportunities

What You Need to Join the Team

+ Must be 18 years or older

+ High School Diploma or GED

+ Valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation

+ Ability to pass background and registry checks

+ Willingness to assist with personal care when needed

+ Physical ability to lift or assist clients (based on individual needs)
