We are searching for the best talent for an** **Associate Director, Digital Transformation & Operational Execution Lead.
This is a remote role available in all states within the United States. While specific cities are listed in the Locations section for reference, please note that they are examples only and do not limit your application. We invite candidates from any location to apply.

Purpose:
The Associate Director, Digital Transformation & Operational Execution Lead will serve as a strategic digital leader driving technology-enabled modernization across the Preclinical Sciences and Translational Safety (PSTS) group. This individual will lead the design, implementation, and governance of digital solutions that enable automation, data integration, and analytics. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in information technology, data platforms, and digital transformation, combined with an understanding of related business processes and cybersecurity. This role requires someone capable of bridging IT, scientific operations, and business strategy to build scalable, compliant, and future-ready digital ecosystems that enhance decision-making and operational excellence, and user experience.
You will be responsible for** **:
Digital Transformation Strategy
+ Establish frameworks for digital governance, cybersecurity, and data integrity aligned with GxP and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance requirements for internal and externalized research activities.
+ Lead the end-to-end digital strategy for the PSTS organization, aligning initiatives with enterprise R&D digital priorities and business outcomes.
+ Identify and deploy emerging technologies—such as AI/ML, automation, data lakes, laboratory digitization, and cloud-native architectures—to enhance scientific productivity and collaboration.
+ Partner with IT, Data Science, and Informatics teams to architect integrated solutions that streamline data flow from discovery through translational safety and regulatory reporting.
+ Drive digital maturity assessments and develop actionable roadmaps to advance the PSTS department’s digital capabilities.
Implementation & Operational Excellence
+ Oversee the implementation of digital platforms, including ELNs, LIMS, laboratory automation, and data visualization tools.
+ Lead multi-functional project teams to deliver complex digital solutions—ensuring effective stakeholder engagement, system validation, and seamless integration with enterprise infrastructure.
+ Partner with business process owners to optimize workflows and leverage automation, RPA, and analytics for efficiency gains and data-driven decision-making.
+ Define operational metrics and KPIs to measure adoption, ROI, and continuous improvement of digital systems.
+ Manage vendor relationships and technology partnerships, ensuring system interoperability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
+ Ensure digital platforms are designed with a user-centric approach, incorporating structured requirements gathering, intuitive UI/UX design, and iterative feedback to optimize scientific workflows.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Change Enablement
+ Act as the primary liaison between PSTS leadership, IT, and data governance teams to ensure alignment of digital initiatives.
+ Drive cultural transformation by promoting digital literacy, user adoption, and agile implementation practices across the scientific community.
+ Partner with Data Governance and AI/ML teams to ensure data quality, standardization, and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data practices.
+ Develop communication and change management strategies to build enthusiasm and accountability for digital adoption.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field is required
Required:
+ Minimum of 8-10 years of experience leading digital transformation or IT initiatives (preferably in pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated life science industries)
+ Proven success in implementing large-scale digital platforms (ELN, LIMS, ERP, or data integration systems).
+ Strong understanding of cloud computing, data architecture, and systems integration (e.g., AWS, Azure, Snowflake, API frameworks).
+ Experience managing IT projects under regulatory compliance.
+ Demonstrated leadership in stakeholder management, change enablement, and cross-functional program delivery.
+ Excellent communication and influencing skills across technical and scientific domains.
+ Strategic thinker with operational execution excellence—able to translate vision into actionable, measurable outcomes.
+ Travel up to 20% (domestic & international)
Preferred:
+ Background or exposure to life sciences or pharmaceutical R&D environments
+ Expertise in digital strategy development, enterprise architecture, and process automation.
+ Proficiency with data management, analytics platforms, and AI/ML implementation.
+ Strong project management skills with ability to manage technical and business stakeholders.
The anticipated base pay range for this position in the US is $137,000 to $235,000.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

+ Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year
+ Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year
+ Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
