    About Road & Rail Services

Since 1987, Road & Rail Services has been a trusted partner in the rail industry, helping keep supply chains moving safely and efficiently across North America. We're proud to serve major railroads, shippers, and manufacturers with a full range of rail-related services-from terminal operations and railcar maintenance to plant logistics and field support.

Our success is built on a foundation of Safety, Reliability, Integrity, and Accountability. These values shape how we work, how we treat people, and how we serve our customers. We believe in doing the job right, every time, and creating a workplace where every associate feels valued, supported, and proud of their work.

    A Day in the Life

As a Railcar Mechanic, you'll be hands-on from the moment your shift begins. Your work keeps freight moving safely - inspecting, repairing, and maintaining railcars so they meet industry standards. You might be replacing steel components, cutting or grinding worn parts, or welding new sections into place. You'll use tools like torches, welders, and grinders to bring each car back to serviceable condition.

Every day brings something different. You'll troubleshoot, think on your feet, and take pride in the visible results of your work. You'll also play a key role in keeping your team and workplace safe - following all safety procedures and helping spot potential hazards before they become issues.

    What You'll Bring

You don't need prior railcar repair experience - just a strong mechanical aptitude, a solid work ethic, and a commitment to learning. Certified welding experience is preferred, and we'll provide all the training, tools, and protective equipment you need to succeed. You'll need a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license. Above all, you bring a safety-first mindset and a "let's get it done" attitude.

    Why Join Road & Rail

We offer a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) programs, plus paid holidays and vacation, an annual steel-toe boot allowance, and all PPE provided. We're a veteran-friendly, promote-from-within company that values initiative, teamwork, and long-term growth.

At Road & Rail Services, you're not just fixing railcars - you're helping keep America's freight moving safely and efficiently. Join a team that takes pride in quality work and looks out for one another every day.
