The Position

2026 Summer Intern - Cell Therapy Process Engineering

Department Summary

In this position, you will need to work effectively as part of a team responsible for furthering the frontier of cell therapies. This will require the application of technical and strategic expertise in science, engineering, and process knowledge to support the production of licensed therapies and pipeline products, as well as enable new technologies.

This internship position is located in **HILLSBORO, Oregon (on-site).**

The Opportunity

+ Learn various cell culture techniques, including feeding, freezing, thawing, and harvesting, using proper aseptic techniques as well as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

+ Execute a hands-on cell therapy study in the MSAT lab or automation project to improve operations or gather comprehensive insights

+ Collaborate cross functionally with Process Development, Analytical Development, and Manufacturing teams to design and execute the experiment and interpret the data.

+ Draft a study report and communicate final results to the project stakeholders.

+ Participate in team meetings and shadow on-the-floor manufacturing activities.

+ Support MSAT data management and documentation.

Program Highlights

+ **Intensive 12 weeks, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship.**

+ **Program start dates are in** **May/June (Summer).**

+ **A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.**

+ Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

+ Final presentations of project work to senior leaders.

Who You Are (Required)

Required Education** **:

You meet one of the following criteria:

+ **Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree (enrolled student, in their third or fourth year).**

Required Majors:

+ **Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology or STEM equivalent.**

Required Skills:

+ Laboratory skills: wet lab skills, aseptic technique, and/or cell culture.

+ The ability to work independently under limited supervision.

+ High level of demonstrated initiative, exhibit flexibility in work approach, and demonstrate strong follow-through and accountability.

+ Must be able to work on a team with diverse skills and objectives.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Oregon is $26.00 - $28.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
