Job Description

Insight Global is seeking to hire a Python Developer for one of our largest financial clients. This individual will be joining a Technology team within the Enterprise Risk and Finance Technology space. This team is looking for motivated, new talent to help enhance and evolve the proprietary platform for trade booking. This role will involve partnering with key stakeholders to ensure proper design and architectural patterns are deployed to ensure high-availability, failover, and scaling. Demonstrate best practices throughout software development lifecycle of design, build, code review and test with focus on application resilience. Candidate will work closely with business partners to define strategies for technical solutions, determine requirements, and develop functional designs based on the analysis of line of business needs, objectives, and existing systems infrastructure. Participates in design, development, and implementation of large and complex enterprise-wide applications, which may require them to learn new technologies. Work closely with users and testers to ensure requirements and test plans serve customer needs.

Skills and Requirements

Strong Python experience within pure application development

Hands On experience in Object Oriented Programming

Well-rounded full-stack Python developer with strong back-end and front-end development skills

Ability to conceptualize and execute a best in class User Experience

Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills that exhibit a willingness to take ownership with enthusiasm in the face of technical challenges

Agile development with ability to refine Jira issues with all required acceptance criteria and knowledge to maintain code versioning releases

Experience in Oracle databases (relational/document/etc.)

Basic SQL Understanding Working experience in Java

Cloud Experience

Expert in common software development design patterns

Prior experience in Banking or Financial services industry with knowledge in Capital Markets (Interest Rate Derivatives, Foreign Exchange Derivatives, Futures, Bonds and Securities, Secured and Unsecured Money Market Instruments, Loans)

Experience working with teams in geographically diverse locations
