As a Senior Engineer - Aerodynamics, you will be focused on leading development and validation of prediction methods and technologies to improve aerodynamic, aero-acoustic, aero-mechanical, and thermal performance for various GE Aerospace products. You will perform research and development for the next generation of aircraft engine and aerospace technologies.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
You will work in a team that performs research and development of aerodynamic technologies for both traditional turbomachinery and non-traditional turbomachinery products. In this role you will:
+ Guide and lead multi-disciplinary/global project teams to develop aerodynamic technologies for next generation aircraft engines.
+ Drive development of high-fidelity computational analyses (e.g., Large Eddy Simulations) to guide design improvements in installed propulsor aerodynamics, aero-mechanics and aero-acoustics.
+ Shape and mature ideas and concepts to improve aerodynamic, aero-mechanical and aero-acoustic performance and operability of turbomachinery components.
+ Patent your inventions and develop a record of publication via conferences and peer reviewed journals.
+ Deploy your extensive experience in modeling and simulation to drive validation & verification efforts and/or to demonstrate new technologies. This may require working with experimentalists to ensure high quality data acquisition.
+ Prepare and participate in project and technical reviews. Deliver presentations, reports, and publications to GE Aerospace Research and Engineering staff as well as external agencies.
+ Provide expertise to help resolve technical challenges across the broader GE Aerospace organization.
+ Provide technical guidance through effective coaching/mentoring.
+ Lead the development and writing of internal and external proposals.
+ Leverage and grow an external network of collaborators in academia, government, and industry.
Required Qualifications
+ Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related disciplines with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
+ Extensive experience and knowledge of fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), particularly using high-fidelity methods. Experience in meshing & using engineering simulation/analysis tools to model flows in and around aircraft engine components.
+ Experience leading global and/or multidisciplinary teams to develop technologies or predictive capabilities from concept to validation.
+ Ability to investigate, model and provide critical insight into complex physical flow phenomena.
+ Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
+ Good communication skills and ability to interface with senior leaders and customers with clarity and confidence. Previous experience leading and managing projects, stakeholders and funding is a plus.

Desired Characteristics

The base pay range for this position is $100,000 - $205,000 USD annually . The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on December 1st, 2025.
