    Job Summary

    This position will direct, coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operation of the PAR team.

    Responsibilities*

    + Provide direct supervision to both PAR analysts and planners to support design, build, support of all clean supply locations within the health system.

    + Assign and delegate job tasks to supply chain personnel to ensure operational objectives are achieved.

    + Support staff including hiring, interviewing, training, evaluation, discipline, mentoring.

    + Oversee the institution's medical surgical commodity PAR inventory levels to ensure proper inventory levels are established and maintained in each clean supply location.

    + Analyze product usage and operational data to facilitate inventory planning, distribution channel mapping, and others business decisions.

    + Monitor productivity standards/control systems for responsible processes, interprets this information and exercises action as appropriate to ensure maximum work efficiency; communicates findings, and suggested improvement/resolutions, to manager.

    + Facilitate continuous improvement to streamline business operations.

    + Tracking and reporting out of priorities aligned with capacity and project timing of the team.

    + Respond to customer feedback, concerns, and other requests.

    + Use root cause analysis to problem solve and recommend changes to processes.

    Required Qualifications*

    + A minimum of 3 years of supervisory or proven lead experience in an environment that requires logistics knowledge or a college degree in a related field.

    + Demonstrated ability to make and/or facilitate effective business and management decisions.

    + Proven leadership skills.

    + Demonstrated ability to prioritize work across the team, maintain KPI?s and transparency of any capacity constraints.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset.

    + Demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills.

    + Demonstrated experience in driving performance improvement in either warehousing, distribution, or other logistics operations.

    + Demonstrated ability to plan and implement product changes and new product releases across a large organization.

    + Demonstrated experience in implementing and sustaining core inventory management principles (FIFO, Min/Max, Optimal PAR levels, clean room design, Inventory Turns, Fill Rate, Statistical Analysis).

    Desired Qualifications*

    + Ability to apply Lean Production System methodology and tools.

    + Industry qualified training; certification.

    + Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain processes in a healthcare setting.

    + Experience in direct supervision of employees.

     

    Work Schedule

     

    Work schedule may vary. Must be able to work overtime as needed that may be on holiday or weekend. All supervisors can provide functional supervision for any of the employees in the department.

    Background Screening

     

    Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
