Senior Software Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Research, design, develop, build and test core distributed, large-scale infrastructure and machine learning systems that power Instagram Advertising.
2. This includes maximizing the sustainability of Instagram’s ad-powered business by optimizing and balancing its impact on revenue, advertisers, and users.
3. Design and implement state-of-the-art ML algorithms for user/session/post-level modeling to make a top-line impact and contribute to our long-term ad load strategy.
4. Develop a strong understanding of relevant product areas, codebase and systems related to Instagram Ads, which reach billions of people.
5. Build the next generation of Ads systems that seamlessly work across all surfaces and new products (e.g., Multi ads, Ad pods, overlay ads) as the social network evolves from feed to stories to reels and beyond.
6. Work independently, use available resources to get unblocked, and complete tasks on-schedule by exercising strong judgement and problem solving skills.
7. Master Meta’s development standards from developing to releasing code in order to take on tasks and projects with increasing levels of complexity.
8. Produce high quality code with good test coverage, using modern abstractions and frameworks.
9. Actively seek and give feedback in alignment with Meta’s Performance Philosophy.
Minimum Qualifications:

10. Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
11. Requires completion of one graduate-level course, one research project, or one internship involving the following
12. One or more industry-standard programming languages (e.g. C++, Java, Python)
13. Distributed systems and algorithms
14. Designing, analyzing, and improving efficiency, scalability, and stability of various systems
15. Owning a system and building and shipping high-quality work with high reliability
16. Software development tools and technologies: code editors (VIM or Emacs), revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce) and
17. Relational databases and SQL
Public Compensation:
$218,402/year to $240,240/year + bonus + equity + benefits
