Join Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, a 420-bed, Magnet designated organization, as a Director of Nursing. The ideal candidate will lead and collaborate with a high-performing, clinical team of experts in our Level II Trauma Emergency Department and 19-bed Clinical Decision Unit (Observation).

The Director of Nursing has overall responsibility for all of the activities within the Emergency Department. Responsible for providing a climate in which professional nursing is practiced. Participates in department-specific and interdepartmental strategic planning. Responsible for activities relating to quality patient care, decision making, problem solving and all leadership functions. Stimulates a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach in the continuous improvement of quality, safety, and service for patients. Ensures regulatory compliance of departments within scope. Has a matrix reporting relationship to the Department of Medicine (DEM) Administrator and the HFH VP- Patient Care Services/CNO.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

+ Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN). Master's degree in Nursing, Business Management or other related field preferred.

+ Minimum of five (5) years of clinical leadership experience.

+ Previous leadership experience in an acute hospital Emergency Department (ED) setting at the manager or Director level preferred.

+ Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience preferred, but not required.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

+ Current license to practice in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse.

+ Current BLS/ACLS required.

+ TNCC, ENPC certification preferred.

+ Certifications as a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Nurse Executive (NE-BC or NEA-BC), or Nurse Leader (CNML or CNL) are a plus.
