In this position...
You will lead a capable team of Tool & Die Makers in the most diverse and unique plant in Ford Motor Company with a long history of building stamping tooling used all over the world since 1938. A dynamic environment that includes the collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Die Engineering and Launch Management teams. In this position you will use your skill and stamping die knowledge to effect change in all aspects of die construction, including machining and tryout, to improve efficiency and lead the stamping die construction industry in cost and timing.
You will have a unique vantage point to help Ford Motor Company deliver best in class vehicles to our customers by producing world-class stamping dies that meet or exceeds our customers’ expectations and to meet or beat program timing for launch of our vehicles. You will have an opportunity to be part of setting the bar for delivering tooling for Ford Motor Company stamping facilities by leveraging the world class equipment at your disposal and future investment opportunities with the goal of delivering tools “ready to launch”.
You will use your knowledge of overall tool manufacturing to solve problems with class a surface, manufacturing bottlenecks, resource capabilities and constraints while leveraging new technologies to enhance and change the way tools are constructed throughout the industry. Leading a team of 50 plus diemakers, die maker leaders, process coaches and support staff and working with your counter parts in the organization as a team to deliver outstanding quality stamping dies. You will help lead and mentor the next generation of tool & die makers, process coaches and engineers using all of Ford Motor Company resources to develop and train your employees to secure the future of Dearborn Tool & Die plant for generations to come.

What you'll do...
In this position you will use your skill and stamping die knowledge to effect change in all aspects of die construction, including machining and tryout, to improve efficiency and lead the stamping die construction industry in cost and timing.

Minimum Qualifications:
+ BS Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience (10+ years)
+ Tool and Die Maker experience in an automotive mfg setting
+ Experienced managing teams of skilled and experienced Engineers
+ Program/project-level experience
Preferred Qualifications:
+ MSE or related degree/field
+ T/D Journeyman card
+ An understanding of the fundamental principles of stamping die builds
+ Experienced at the assembly of class A aluminum dies
