Job Summary:
HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is a seeking an experienced cardiac physician assistant to join an established cardiothoracic surgery practice.
Qualified Candidates:
+ Incoming provider would be proficient in supporting all aspects of care of the Cardiothoracic Surgery Patients. The ideal candidate will have advanced skills in cardiothoracic surgical procedures and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position will be predominantly OR based, supporting a team of cardiothoracic surgeons in complex open and minimally invasive procedures.
+ Primary responsibilities include surgical first assisting in a wide variety of Cardiothoracic Surgical procedure including Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting, Valve Repair/Replacement, Aortic Surgery, Structural Heart Valve Repair/Replacement, Thoracic Surgery including Lobectomy, Pleurodesis, Decortications, Robotic approach, ETS, etc.
+ Ensure appropriate pre-operative and intra-operative preparation including patient positioning, draping, and instrumentation. Collaborate closely with the OR staff, anesthesia, perfusion, and critical care staff to ensure seamless care.
+ Proficiency in Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting strongly preferred. Additional skill set to include inpatient management of Cardiothoracic Surgery patients, as well as ability to perform Consultations. Strong organizational, clinical, and communication skills are required to be successful.
+ Support OR Call coverage on a rotating basis to include nights/weekends/holidays shared with team of operating room Physician Assistants. The role is consistent with approximately 80% OR coverage.
