GENERAL SUMMARY:
Administrative Fellowship is a one-year learning experience designed to cultivate leaders in the field of healthcare through exposure to a wide range of operational, administrative and strategic projects/activities/issues and by fostering close working relationships between the Fellow and Leadership Team and Administrative Vice President.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Completes varied and complex special projects as assigned by the Leadership Team or Administrative Vice Presidents.
• Conducts high-level strategic, tactical, financial, statistical and/or operational analyses to assess the costs, benefits and impacts of management strategies/tactics, business opportunities, performance improvement initiatives and/or changes in regulatory requirements.
• Formulates and presents recommendations to Leadership Team or Administrative Vice Presidents or other key management staff.
• May develop programs and action plans to implement recommendations.
• Composes reports and summaries as requested.
• Develops, coordinates, maintains and evaluates project plans for assigned projects, including scope of work, staffing, scheduling, resources, identification of risks, contingency plans and allocation of available resources; serves as point-person for internal and external project communications.
• Ensures project milestones, completion dates, costs, risks, contingencies and other significant matters are communicated on a regular basis to team members and stakeholders; negotiates the resolution of issues with all stakeholders.
• Attends, and participates in, a wide variety of interdisciplinary team/committee meetings to observe management-level decision-making and problem-solving activities, explain
analyses/findings/recommendations and make formal presentations.
• Works in collaboration with various committees and process teams to determine needs.
• Maintains a current knowledge base of trends, policies, regulatory standards in health care.
• Seeks professional development feedback from management staff, mentors, preceptors and other colleagues.
MINUMIM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Master’s Degree in MHA or MPA required.
