Description:
Position Purpose:
+ Responsible for the daily operations, supervision, and coordination of shelter services for individuals experiencing homelessness.
+ The manager ensures a safe, welcoming, and trauma-informed environment that promotes engagement, stability, and connection to needed resources.
+ The Program Manager provides leadership to staff, maintains compliance with agency and funder requirements, and collaborates with internal and external partners to support participants in achieving housing and recovery goals.
What you will do:
+ Oversee daily shelter operations, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and compliance with program standards and funding requirements.
+ Supervise and support a multidisciplinary team, including program supervisors, program specialists, program assistant, etc.
+ Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations to promote professional growth and effective service delivery.
+ Ensure a low-barrier, person-centered approach that reduces obstacles to shelter entry and engagement.
+ Monitor participant flow, occupancy rates, and service outcomes; prepare and submit reports as required.
+ Develop and implement policies, procedures, and schedules to support consistent and efficient program operation.
+ Collaborate with community providers, outreach teams, and internal departments to coordinate care, referrals, and housing placements.
+ Respond to participant crises, de-escalate situations, and support staff in managing challenging behaviors using trauma-informed and harm reduction approaches.
+ Manage program budget, expenditures, and resource allocation in coordination with leadership.
+ Maintain accurate documentation in data management systems.
Education and Experience:
+ Master’s Degree (behavioral health, human services or public health) with 1 year as a manager/supervisor and a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in human services or healthcare setting **OR** Bachelor’s Degree (behavioral health, human services or public health) with 3 years as a manager/supervisor and minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a human services or a healthcare setting.
+ Experience working in mental health residential, substance use treatment and/or homeless services strongly preferred.
+ Act 33/34/73 clearances
+ Pre-employment drug screen
+ Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
+ Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and community partners.
+ Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, behavioral health conditions, or substance use disorders strongly preferred.
+ Proficiency in documentation, data tracking, and Microsoft Office or similar software systems.
POSITION HIGHIGHTS/BENEFITS
+ **WORK SCHEDULE: This is an exempt (salary) position.** Monday through Friday daylight with some nontraditional hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays) may be required.
