    FT-Oakland Location

    I Accountability Objectives:

     

    Installs, inspects, repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical equipment and hospital furnishings and structures.

     

    II Position Qualifications:

     

    Minimum Education, Licensure / Certification and Experience Required.

     

    A. Education

    **•** High school diploma or equivalent.

    B. Licensure / Certification

    + Current High Pressure Boiler Operator license.

    + Valid State of Michigan Driver's License

    C Special Skill / Aptitudes

    + Have working knowledge of various HVAC and Building Automation Systems as evidenced by training and/or experience.

    + Ability to read, write, make mathematical computations and follow complex instructions. Be able to interpret blueprints and technical specifications including operation and maintenance manuals.

    + Excellent customer service orientation skills necessary in order to deal effectively with various levels of hospital personnel, outside customers and community groups.

    D. Experience

    **•** Have minimum of three (3) years of Powerhouse experience.

    III Duties / Responsibilities:

     

    Responsible for all powerhouse equipment. Maintains heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment for hospital campus. Responsible for maintaining temperature in all buildings for each season using a variety of building automation systems and, in some cases, manual controls. Repairs, maintains and performs preventive/predictive maintenance on hospital equipment using the work order system to report time, work performed and cost of materials. Assemble and install equipment and furnishings. Responsible for efficient energy usage (utilities). Maintains clean and neat work area, equipment and mechanical rooms. Respond to "call-ins" for any emergency. Performs other work as assigned.

    + Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations, the Trinity Health Organizational Integrity Program, including the Standards of Conduct, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behaviors.

    + Supports and conducts one's self in a manner consistent with customer service expectations.

    V Working Conditions:

    + Stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl most days. Good vision and hearing.

    + Exposure to high level of noise from equipment operation.

    + Long hours in event of emergencies.

    + May be subject to obnoxious or undesirable working situations.

    + Ability to lift 50 lbs.
