Program Coordinator I Overview
The Department of Chemistry is seeking a Program Coordinator I to assist with graduate admissions and recruitment. Under the supervision of the Graduate Program Manager, the selected candidate will support admissions processes, assist in organizing recruiting and student events, and develop materials for prospective students. Additional duties may include managing application data and coordinating admissions related communications.
Key Responsibilities
+ Supports the Graduate Recruiting Coordinator with all aspects of the admissions process, including processing applications, tracking applicant data, and maintaining accurate records.
+ Serves as a point of contact for prospective students regarding department and university admissions procedures.
+ Prepares decision correspondence such as declinations and acceptances for applicants and communicates with the TAMU Graduate Admissions Office and Admissions Committee meetings.
+ Compiles and submits University competitive fellowship applications.
+ Assists in planning the annual Graduate Recruitment Weekend (GRW) and arranges visits or virtual meetings for prospective students.
+ Develops event timelines and oversees logistics to ensure a welcoming and informative experience for prospective students.
+ Updates the annual New Student Information booklet and relevant materials on the departmental website to ensure accuracy and relevance for prospective graduate students.
+ Research and compiles information to create recruitment and professional development materials.
+ Identifies and recommends process improvements to enhance the admissions experience.
+ Assists with planning and coordinating other graduate office events as needed.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Two years of program coordination and administration experience, which should include some Microsoft Office Suite experience and some event planning.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Three or more years of program coordination/administrative experience with a student-centric program.
+ Experience taking an idea from inception to implementation and creating, planning, and facilitating events, workshops, and programming.
+ Ability to collect and analyze data for use in developing appropriate programming.
+ Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
+ Demonstrated ability to build relationships with students.
+ Experience in planning and implementing large, multi-day events.
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience.
Schedule: The selected candidate must be able to work on occasional nights and/or weekends as required to complete assigned tasks.
