    Our client, **an electric vehicle manufacturer,** is actively looking for a **Test Engineer** to join their team in **Irvine, CA!** This role is onsite so local candidates are required.

     

    ***This is a 6 month contract with the opportunity to extend or convert based on performance and business needs***

    **This client is seeking a Test Engineer with experience in materials testing to support the evaluation of various material systems for adhesion, density, and other properties.** The role involves preparing test specimens, executing standard and custom test methods, analyzing data, collaborating with stakeholders, and documenting results. The ideal candidate has a strong background in materials science, mechanical testing, data analysis, and has communication skills!

    What You Will Be Doing

    + **Prepare and condition test specimens according to specifications**

    + **Perform adhesion testing using standard methods (e.g., lap shear, peel, tensile)**

    + **Operate and maintain testing equipment such as universal testing machines, environmental chambers, and measurement tools**

    + Record and analyze test data, ensuring accuracy and repeatability

    + Utilize data analysis tools such as statistics, curve fitting, or other techniques to better understand results

    + Document procedures, observations, and results in detailed technical reports

    + Collaborate with internal engineers to refine test methods and interpret results

    + Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace

    Required Skills & Experience

    + **Bachelor's in materials science, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, etc.**

    + **Experience in materials testing, preferably with polymers, coatings, or adhesives**

    + **Familiarity with adhesion test methods (e.g., ASTM, ISO standards)**

    + Proficiency in data analysis and technical report writing

    + Hands-on experience with mechanical testing equipment such as Instron's

    + Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

    + Background in materials science or similar
