Job Title: Interim Controller – Special Projects
**Location:** Saint Louis, Missouri (Onsite preferred, with flexibility for inclement weather)
**Pay Range:** $55–$70/hour (based on experience)
About the Role
Our client, a respected healthcare organization, is seeking an **Interim Controller – Special Projects** to support the CFO and Finance Department. This is a **high-impact individual contributor role** focused on financial operations and strategic initiatives. The position has been tailored to emphasize core finance responsibilities and will report **directly to the CFO** .
This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, has experience navigating change, and brings a proactive, analytical mindset to financial leadership.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead daily finance operations including general ledger, billing audits, and inpatient financial reporting
+ Manage month-end and year-end close processes
+ Prepare and analyze financial statements for executive leadership
+ Ensure compliance with GAAP and healthcare-specific financial regulations
+ Support audit preparation and execution, especially around inpatient billing and reporting
+ Collaborate with the Director of Revenue Cycle (but not responsible for Rev Cycle operations)
+ Contribute to special projects including position control and change management initiatives
What We’re Looking For
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
+ 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
+ Strong background in **hospital-based healthcare experience**
+ Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle, NetSuite)
+ Deep understanding of GAAP and healthcare financial reporting standards
+ Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
+ Experience with change management and strategic financial initiatives
