    Summary

    The Senior Director of Human Resources provides leadership of HR strategy and execution across the Manufacturing Operations. This role is responsible for shaping workforce strategy, driving organizational transformation, and ensuring alignment of people practice with long-term business goals. The Senior Director oversees all aspects of HR service delivery for manufacturing facilities, including talent management, labor optimization, leadership development, labor relations, compliance, and cultural engagement, while partnering with Centers of Excellence and executive leadership to deliver sustainable business results.

     

    The salary range for this position is $190,000 - $284,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

    Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    1. Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the Manufacturing and Supply Chain executive leadership team, influencing business strategy and enabling achievement of people, product, planet, and profitability goals.

    2. Provide vision and direction for HR strategy across all manufacturing sites, aligning workforce initiatives with business transformation, continuous improvement, and long-term supply chain objectives.

    3. Lead HR integration with Centers of Excellence to deliver programs in compensation, benefits, learning and development, wellness, diversity & inclusion, and HR technology.

    4. Use HR analytics, workforce planning tools, and business intelligence platforms (e.g., SAP HCM, Power BI) to provide insights and forecasts that inform executive decision-making on labor cost, retention, and talent pipelines.

    5. Build and develop a high-performing HR leadership team, creating bench strength, succession pipelines, and advancing leadership capability across the HR function.

    6. Oversee compliance with employment law and regulatory standards, ensuring consistent policies and process controls are in place across all facilities.

    7. Champion organizational culture, employee engagement, and change management strategies that drive business transformation and operational excellence.

    8. Lead enterprise or division-wide special projects, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional programs that strengthen long-term competitiveness and growth.

     

    Minimum Education and Experience

    REQUIRED:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.

    + 15+ years of progressive HR experience including focused work in Talent Management and organization design, with at least 8 years in a multi-site manufacturing leadership role; prior enterprise-level or senior director experience strongly preferred.

    + Deep knowledge of labor and employment law, OSHA, ERISA, FLSA, FMLA, Title VII, Immigration, and related regulations.

    + Experience with HRIS platforms; SAP HCM expertise strongly preferred.

    + Proven ability to lead large teams, partner with executive leadership, and deliver measurable results in workforce performance, retention, and organizational effectiveness.

    + Labor relations experience including contract negotiations and union avoidance.

    + Ability to travel approximately 25–35%.

    Preferred:

    + Master’s degree and/or SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification.

    + HR executive leadership experience in protein, food manufacturing, or complex supply chain environments.

    Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

    + Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.

    + May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.

    + May need to access files, supplies and equipment.

    + Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.

    + When in a plant environment:

    + Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

    + May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.

    + May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

    + May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 dB to 110 db.

    + May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.

    + You must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.

    + Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.

    + Able to stand for several hours.

    + Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs.), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
