Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking an Operational Excellence Engineer Intern to join their team. As an intern, you will be part of the Operational Excellence Engineering Department supporting Lean transformation and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, adaptability, and effective communication skills which will align successfully in the organization.
**Job Title:** Operational Excellence Engineer Intern
**Location:** Durham, NC
**Pay Range:** $25.00 per hour
What’s the Job?
+ Participate in Gemba walks, Kaizen events, and support continuous improvement projects
+ Conduct cycle time analyses, time studies, and line balancing to improve production flow
+ Support development and improvement of assembly visual work aids and 5S implementation
+ Assist in audits and problem-solving abnormalities affecting takt time
+ Collaborate with manufacturing teams to drive Lean manufacturing principles and cost reduction efforts
What’s Needed?
+ Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field
+ 0 to 2 years of related project or internship experience in operations or manufacturing
+ Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement tools preferred
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with ability to work collaboratively
