Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

Have you wanted an opportunity to develop tools and UI/UX to support operation of a satellite constellation? This role is for a Senior Front End Engineer who will lead the design, architecture and implementation of the UI/ UX for satellite operators and flight controllers. Our team owns developing the architecture, solutions and roadmap for mission and constellation operations. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, have strong verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, able to juggle multiple tasks at once, able to work independently, and maintain professionalism under pressure. You should have knowledge in space system design and software engineering practices.

Key job responsibilities

• Design and implement Websites and User Interfaces for Constellation / Mission Operations.

• Partner with the Satellite, Networks and Security engineering teams.

• Drive Customer Engagement Systems application and data architecture.

A day in the life

You will work with internal engineering teams to define our operational tooling. You will identify opportunities to optimize and automate, and work with software and hardware teams to implement. You will be responsible for the operational success of the Kuiper mission.

About the team

Project Kuiper Mission Operations teams owns management and operation of the Kuiper satellite constellation, providing a stable foundation for the networking team to run customer-facing connectivity service.

Basic Qualifications

- 4+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience

- 5+ years of front-end developer creating prototypes or wire-frames for enterprise web applications or workflows experience

- Experience developing with MVC/MVM frameworks (e.g. React.JS, AngularJS, Vue)

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of web services technologies such as SOAP, HTTP, WSDL, XSD, and REST

- Experience in a broad range of software design approaches and common UX patterns.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
