Position Summary: Ensures optimal clinical outcomes by providing integrated pharmaceutical services through informational and clinical services as well as drug distribution.

Position Expectations:

+ Assist in scheduling and completing of IV regulatory competencies for the department.

+ Assist in scheduling and completing IV training for the department.

+ Serve as a leader on sterile preparation operational projects.

+ Work with clinical pharmacists to implement operational aspects of new parenteral product formulary additions or non-formulary parenteral needs.

+ Initiate and participate in quality initiatives and workflow improvements associated with sterile preparation.

+ Serve as a point person for clarification of operational policies and procedures for sterile medication preparation.

+ Assist in vetting of new inventory including medications, supplies and garb associated with parenteral products.

+ Assist in managing operational aspects of medications, supplies, garb and facilities associated with parenteral products.

+ Maintain knowledge of and assist in implementation of regulations associated with sterile preparation including but not limited to USP797, USP800, Illinois State Laws and The Joint Commission .

+ Serve as the point person for sterile preparation regulatory oversight and be the designated clean room person.

+ This position will include weekends, holidays and a variety of shifts based on departmental needs and project implementations.

Position Requirements:

+ Possess ASHP Compounded Sterile Preparations Certificate for Pharmacists and within the first year of assuming position become board certified in Compounded Sterile Preparations Pharmacy Specialty Certification (BCSCP)

+ Current Illinois license for registered Pharmacist, PharmD, or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy with acute care experience as a pharmacist in an inpatient hospital pharmacy setting with clinical exposure required

+ . Two - three years advanced clinical experience preferred. Board Certified Pharmacotherapeutic Specialist preferred.

This is a floater position and will be working rotating shifts.
