MCA, your trusted advisor for wireless communications, data, and security, is seeking an experienced **Design Engineer** in the **Houston, TX** area to support our fast-growing Data division. Our professional services include a complete range of offerings allowing us to support customers in the planning, design, implementation, integration, and maintenance of state-of-the-art security systems.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

+ Lead and support projects while driving continuous improvement.

+ Deliver high-quality results independently with minimal oversight.

+ Collaborate effectively with peers and cross-functional teams.

+ Mentor and coach members of the design/engineering team.

+ Serve as the primary customer interface for your team.

+ Manage assigned projects and ensure customer satisfaction.

+ Ensure high standards in design and implementation.

+ Communicate and present technical information clearly.

+ Take the lead on smaller-scale projects.

+ Balance technical engineering with project management responsibilities.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:

+ 1–3 years of relevant experience; 3+ years preferred.

+ Strong hands-on technical background.

+ Ability to estimate and design moderately complex enterprise-level solutions.

+ Skilled in identifying client needs, recommending solutions, and developing detailed Statements of Work (SOWs).

+ Support sales efforts with demos, product examples, and portfolio showcases.

+ Assist with submittals for permits and approvals through design firms or agencies.

+ Accurately compile and enter project estimates into CRM systems.

+ Proficient in AutoCAD for producing technical designs and drawings.

+ Help create asset sheets for installed materials.

+ Provide technical leadership and support across departments to resolve customer issues

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear, utilize personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials, lift (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; be able to handle semi-frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular), frequently work in outdoor weather conditions, frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally ascend / descend a ladder, operate a motor vehicle, frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.
