Job Title: Process EngineerJob Description
This role is for a Special Process Engineer for an Aerospace and Defense client in Atlanta, GA. The primary focus is to leverage industry experience to transition battery production from an upstart phase to scaled manufacturing. The engineer will apply best practices and quality controls to enhance the battery manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and optimize Micro-TIG and laser welding processes.
+ Build custom battery packs from supplied cells.
+ Lead automated welding process development.
+ Manage projects independently from start to finish.
+ Create technical documentation, including process specifications and SOPs.
+ Conduct equipment and process inspections.
+ Set up, execute, and analyze experiments to improve production standards.
Essential Skills
+ 8+ years of experience in a high-volume weld process development environment.
+ Expertise in Micro-TIG and laser welding processes.
+ Experience in building battery packs.
+ Strong project management skills.
+ Proficiency in writing technical documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, or Welding Engineering.
+ Certifications such as AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
+ Experience in the battery industry.
+ Familiarity with fully automated welding lines.
Work Environment
Enjoy flexible hours with a standard day shift and the opportunity for independent work to develop processes. Collaboration with the California team may require some late meetings. The work environment includes deep dives into existing production lines to enhance standards, and an emphasis on work-life balance is evident with offerings like unlimited PTO, RSU grants, and an array of daily snacks and beverages. The role involves minimal overtime and focuses on a mission-oriented approach to support the warfighter.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, Georgia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
