    Join a dynamic team as a Controls Engineer on a 12-month contract-to-hire basis with an automotive manufacturer in Whitehall. This role focuses on troubleshooting aging machines and integrating new machinery within the facility.

    Responsibilities

    + Troubleshoot and maintain aging machines on the manufacturing floor.

    + Integrate new machinery into the existing systems.

    + Write PLC code from scratch in either Allen Bradley or Siemens, with a transition towards Siemens programming.

    + Participate in Siemens programming training if not already proficient.

    + Perform electrical design using ePlan or AutoCAD.

    + Program robotics using either Denso or Fanuc robots.

    + Implement machine vision systems using Keyence or Cognex.

    + Spend 90% of work time on the manufacturing floor, engaging in hands-on activities.

    + Possibility to mentor and guide other team members.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Controls Engineer in an automotive manufacturing environment.

    + Proficiency in creating PLC code in Allen Bradley or Siemens.

    + Experience with electrical design in ePlan or AutoCAD Electrical.

    + Skill in programming with either Fanuc or Denso robots.

    + Familiarity with machine vision systems, specifically Keyence or Cognex.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with coil winding.

    + Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is preferred.

    Work Environment

    This role requires spending 90% of the time on the manufacturing floor, engaging in hands-on work. The environment is typical of a manufacturing setting, with a dedicated office space provided. Work weeks typically range from 50 to 60 hours, transitioning to a salaried position upon permanent hire. The fast-paced automotive environment offers opportunities for skill expansion and mentoring.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Whitehall, Michigan.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr.
