    Job Title: Quality Control Lab Assistant

    Job Description

    As a Quality Control Lab Assistant, you will assist in the preparation of materials for testing and aid professional individuals in performing various laboratory tests. Your role will involve receipt and preparation of samples, storage and retrieval of samples for additional testing, and preparation of buffer materials. You will also handle and track donor samples from receipt to final testing.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist in the preparation of materials for laboratory testing.

    + Aid certified professionals in performing laboratory tests.

    + Receive and prepare samples using front-end automation.

    + Store and archive samples in refrigerated or frozen conditions.

    + Utilize computerized reports for retrieval and reconciliation of samples.

    + Prepare buffer materials for testing.

    + Receive specimens and supplies, processing and recording information from collection centers.

    + Track donor samples from receipt to final testing.

    + Dispose of samples properly into biohazard containers after testing.

    + Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.

    + Use computerized inventory management system to track testing status of samples.

    + Monitor and notify supervisor of inventory needs for laboratory supplies.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + High school diploma or equivalent

    + Preferred laboratory experience or in production line work

    Work Environment

    This position is located in a donor processing/manufacturing facility. Work hours are from 6:30 AM to 3 PM, Monday to Friday, with first-day orientation typically held on Mondays from 10 AM to 12 PM. The environment is positive with a standard daily operating rhythm, offering a set shift with no 'on-call' or STAT labs typical of hospitals.     This is a Contract position based out of Knoxville, Tennessee.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $16.20 - $16.20/hr.
