Job Title: Production EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Production Engineer to oversee and optimize manufacturing processes in a fast-paced shop environment. This role is critical to ensuring efficient production of steel components, fabricated skids, and other custom assemblies. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

+ Analyze and improve production workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and meet output targets.

+ Provide engineering support to shop floor teams, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.

+ Ensure products meet specifications and industry standards through inspections and process controls.

+ Collaborate with planning and scheduling teams to align resources and timelines with project requirements.

+ Monitor machinery performance, coordinate maintenance, and support upgrades or new equipment integration.

+ Promote a safe working environment and ensure adherence to OSHA and company safety protocols.

+ Maintain accurate records of production metrics, process changes, and improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.

+ 5+ years of experience in a shop environment as a Production Engineer.

+ Experience with ACCESS (Microsoft), ERP, & MRP software.

+ Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.

+ Strong communication and leadership skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Familiarity with welding, machining, and assembly operations is a plus.

+ Experience in steel or skid fabrication is preferred.

+ Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

+ Familiarity with fabrication standards, such as AWS.

Work Environment

The candidate will be working in both an office and shop environment as needed. All personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided. The position offers a flexible schedule with core hours from 9 am to 3 pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
