    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Engineer to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact environmental compliance and permitting projects across a range of industries. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure our clients meet all federal, state, and local environmental standards.

    Position Overview

    As an Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing air permit applications, conducting emissions evaluations, managing regulatory audits, and supporting compliance with emerging environmental policies. This role combines technical expertise with project management and client-facing responsibilities, offering significant autonomy and early-stage leadership potential.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Prepare air permit applications and compliance reports using the US EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Reporting Tool.

    + Evaluate facility emissions for Area Source, State Facility, and Title V classifications; generate Annual Emission Statements.

    + Conduct air dispersion modeling using EPA-approved software such as AERMOD.

    + Oversee environmental audits and emissions performance testing at client facilities.

    + Develop NOx monitoring and compliance plans; recommend equipment or process modifications.

    + Certify installations of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) or design alternative systems such as Predictive Emissions Monitoring Systems (PEMS).

    + Support compliance with Environmental Justice Policy (EJP) and the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA).

    + Manage stormwater discharge monitoring and hazardous waste disposal processes.

    + Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure quality and timely project execution.

    + Conduct technical research and prepare responses to RFQs and RFPs.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.

    + 1–3 years of experience in environmental engineering and regulatory compliance.

    + Working knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC and commissioning practices.

    + Familiarity with air permitting regulations, monitoring techniques, and pollution control strategies.

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong understanding of Title V permitting.

    + Valid U.S. driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.

    Preferred Experience

    + Experience with NYC Department of Buildings systems (DOB NOW, BIS, eFiling).

    + Knowledge of NYC Local Laws 84, 87, and/or 97.

    + Field inspection experience, including ASME boiler tests, EPA Method 9, and cooling tower assessments.

    Work Environment & Culture

    This position is based in our White Plains office or at designated job sites. The standard schedule is 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a one-hour lunch break. We offer:

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $40.86/hr.
