Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description
Join our dynamic team as a Lab Technician, where you will provide essential support to our laboratory community. Under minimal supervision, you will interact with customers and collaborate with colleagues to maintain successful partnerships and exceed expectations. This role requires handling chemical and biological agents, following all safety procedures and using personal protective equipment as provided.
Responsibilities
+ Communicate with supervisors regarding consumable supply stock, glassware needs, specialty gas cylinder stock, instrument maintenance, and software upgrades.
+ Maintain stockroom inventories according to the thresholds determined by customers’ stockroom manager(s).
+ Fulfill internal and external chemical requests submitted by customers.
+ Schedule inter-site and intra-site shipments of materials in collaboration with customers and/or the shipping department.
+ Assist with chemical stockroom, laboratory supply stockroom, and site inventories.
+ Fulfill media and solution requests submitted by customers.
+ Manage chemical and biological media orders, including calculations, documentation, autoclaving, labeling, and delivery of sensitive formulations critical to experiments.
+ Collect and consolidate hazardous waste generated from the labs, maintaining storage according to customer policies and applicable regulations.
+ Comply with all GXP regulations and documentation while performing services.
+ Collect and supply metrics as required by management.
+ Assist and participate in cross-training efforts for all applicable Lab Services duties.
+ Maintain a safe and clean working environment within the laboratory and office.
+ Comply with all company policies and procedures, adhering to company standards.
+ Perform other duties within the Lab Services department as requested by management.
+ Maintain open communication with the Lab Services and Facilities Management team.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in aseptic techniques and handling chemicals.
+ Experience with buffers, growth media, and petri dishes.
+ Strong communication skills for interacting with Pharma vendors.
+ Ability to handle physical demands, including moving medical waste, tanks, masks, and lab coats.
+ 1+ years of experience in a GMP lab environment.
+ Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in a technical field preferred; equivalent work experience acceptable.
+ Prior knowledge and experience in a regulated GxP environment, such as the pharmaceutical, medical device, or other life science industry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
+ Experience with inventory management systems, purchasing systems, and other scientific applications preferred.
+ Compliance with all safety standards and policies required for site, department, and job function.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with management and employees at all levels within an organization.
+ Team player committed to working in a safe, high-performance, and quality-driven environment.
+ Ability to multi-task and work both in a team and independently.
+ Ability to function effectively in a dynamic work environment.
+ IATA, DOT, RCRA, and HAZWOPER certification preferred.
+ Must possess a valid driver's license and complete appropriate training based on vehicles utilized where applicable.
Work Environment
This position is based at the West Summit site. It involves working in a laboratory setting where proper safety protocols and personal protective equipment are mandatory due to exposure to chemical and biological agents. The role requires flexibility and the ability to cross-train in various lab services functions.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of PENNINGTON, New Jersey.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.
